Foreword:
Classroom conversation:
- What does the proverb mean A lie has short legs.?
- How do we feel when we lie?
- How do we feel when we discover someone has lied to us?
The teacher emphasises: »Today we will not only write about the event, but also about the feelings.«
On the board, you write down emotions: fear, guilt, shame, relief (when we tell the truth), anger/disappointment (when someone lies to us)...
MIDDLE PART
1. Explanation of Written Task
- Document Title: A lie has short legs.
- Pupils write an experiential piece in which:
- He described an event connected with a lie (true).,
- show how the lie became entangled, describe the reveal,
- emphasises the main character's emotions,
- Consider the consequences.
- Recommended structure (on the board): introduction – what happened, body – the lie and the plot, conclusion – revelation and reflection.
2. Independent writing
- The pupils write independently.
- The teacher encourages with questions:
- How were you in that moment?
- What were you thinking?
- Would you do things differently today?
CONCLUSION (10 minutes):
The volunteers read an excerpt from their file.
Group conversation
- What did you notice about the feelings?
- Did lying bring peace or trouble?
The teacher’s closing remarks: »Honesty isn't always the easiest path, but it is the one with which we can live peacefully.«
