The story takes place in the surroundings of Murska Sobota. It was a beautiful spring day and Sabina was - like every day - going to visit her mother in the hospital.

She took a few little things with her to make her sprinkled with them. It was about twenty kilometres of driving one way. As always, she turned on the radio and listened to music while she drove, admiring the scenery in between. In the meantime, if she recognised a person in the car driving towards her or on the side of the road, she would wave to them. A good half an hour later, she was at her mother's side in hospital. They talked about everyday things. In the room next to her were several other patients with various ailments.

At one point, Sabina heard a pleading voice: »Madam!« She looked around the room, not knowing at first which of the patients had spoken. She got up from her chair and looked towards the lady who was lying in the bed behind her, watching her. She walked over and asked her if she needed anything. »Please, if you could moisten my lips a little with a sponge, because I have an operation and I can't do it myself.«

Of course, Sabina was happy to help and, while she was still allowed to visit, she came up to her a few more times and moistened her lips. The next day, when she came to visit, she was going to help her too, but she was not in the room then. Her mother told her that she had been transferred. That was in the spring of May, and now it is autumn-coloured October.

A few days ago, Sabina went to Murska Sobota again, but this time not to the hospital, because her mother is fortunately already at home. After finishing her errands, she went to the pharmacy to buy some medicine for her mother. As she was paying at the cash register, she heard behind her, »Good day!« She looked around and saw a familiar face. »Do you still remember me?« asked the smiling lady. »Of course,« replied Sabina, thrilled to see the woman from the hospital in front of her.

»Wow, how you helped me in the hospital that day by moisturising my lips. I am so grateful for that. I will never forget that!« said the lady.

»It was a small thing,« Sabina replied.

»But do you know how much that help meant to me when I couldn't do anything myself, I just had to lie still. Thank you from the bottom of my heart.«

Sabina said that she felt a lot of love in her heart because she understood the lady completely. After a short pleasant chat, they said goodbye, grateful that they had met by chance. By chance? Well, we all know that nothing in life happens by chance. Sabina reflected with a special feeling in her heart on how even a small help can make such a big difference to someone in need. So let's listen, let's look around us sometime. How can we help and brighten the day of others? Maybe just with a smile. In fact, it doesn't even matter what it is, all that matters is that it is sincere. On the way home she texted me: »I have a wonderful story for you!«
