On a hill in a picturesque Carinthian village, with a magnificent view of Mount Uršlja gora and Mount Peca, is the holiday home of Dušan Božank.

He invested a great deal of his time, effort and joy into arranging the latter, and to top it all off, it is adorned by a gorgeous surrounding area.

Dušan is not only known to people for his work ethic, which serves him very well in life, but also for being by nature a cheerful person who likes to sing and play an instrument on occasion or just for his own soul. I have personally also come to know him as a kind-hearted person who frequently helps people who are in need of assistance. It is not uncommon for him to have his hands full when we meet.

»Today I helped an acquaintance transport fish to his new pond,« he told me with a smile on his face when we saw each other a few weeks ago. He often does such gestures for others. His willingness to help also pleasantly surprised me when I needed a favour myself some time ago, specifically the delivery of some things with a van.

It so happened that I went for a walk past his house at that time, and since he was just outside, he invited me over for a chat over coffee. During the pleasant conversation, I grumbled about my problem, and he offered to take those things himself. »That's really no trouble. I can do that on the fly,« he said.

I was delighted with the help offered, which is why my problem was resolved. That evening and for several other days he really did turn up to deliver everything that was needed. At the end of the day, I was thinking about how many people wouldn't bother with that without wanting something in return. Especially not for a few days. That is why I was all the more grateful to Dušan.

It is worth its weight in gold when someone helps you when you need help. It is also important that you can rely on someone because they are honest and stick to agreements. Nowadays, when many people quickly forget promises made, it is reassuring to know a man of his word. Dušan is certainly that.

Because life strives for balance after all, good things sometimes return to it. It happens that someone helps him too.

»If anyone ever helped me, I don't forget it, even if many years have passed since then, he once told me. This shows that the old Slovenian proverb You reap what you sow Real. May good continue to return with good.
