The exhibition, placed in the centre of the local cultural centre and in the middle of the Town Square, and extended into the public space with a strawberry selection of works, raises questions such as: how does our spiritual heritage mark us today? Where do the past and the future meet? What is the power of goodness, vision and deep intuition today, a hundred years later?
The exhibition is not linear - it is not a classical biography, but an experiential encounter. Visitors get an insight into the mind of this remarkable woman, feel the space in which she lived and worked, and listen to stories that are like living shadows of the past. Through letters, artistic interpretations, archival records, smells, sounds and light, the visitor is immersed in a world that no longer exists - and yet still speaks.
In the central part of the exhibition, amidst a white circle of silence, her thoughts ring out: 'People don't believe in what they can't see. But the soul, the soul sees further."
Special emphasis is given to the question of cultural heritage: how to understand and preserve the memory of the personalities who have marked our space; not with power but with inner strength, not with castles but with spiritual landscapes? In this context, Adelma von Vay is not just a historical figure - she is a cultural symbol. Her work, presence and influence transcend place. It is a tradition that invites us to compassion, spiritual openness and the courage to dare to be different.
Thanks to her role as a healer, writer, spiritualist and, above all, humanitarian, who connected the local community with the European cultural space, Adelma von Vay is today recognised as an important figure of Slovenian cultural heritage. Her work has not only left its mark in Konjice. She left a mental and ethical imprint that we are only beginning to appreciate as a society today; a concern for community, the power of empathy and transcending the boundaries between the spiritual and the mundane.
With her charisma, open mind and strength of spirit, Adelma von Vay made an important contribution to the historical identity of the Slovenian region. Preserving her memory, exploring her work and mounting exhibitions such as this one play an important role in preserving our cultural heritage, while encouraging future generations to understand the importance of nurturing that which connects and heals.
This exhibition is therefore an active tribute to a woman who knew that it was not enough to live, but to act with vision. It is also a tribute to the Slovenian town of Konjice, which not only preserves its cultural past, but also lives it. It is part of a contemporary identity and a future path.
Adelma von Vay is a mirror of time, an invitation to silence and a bridge between worlds.
