I'm a concert fan myself. I really enjoy them, and I guess my folks sometimes think that I go to one too many. But that's okay. At the end of the day, nobody is in a bad mood and I am re-energised and a bit more relaxed. After working hard in my small business, where I work on Fridays and Sundays, and with a toddler who is just going through tantrums and disagreements, sometimes this is much needed. But what I want to share with you at this moment happened about three years ago, before I even knew that one day this beautiful but demanding toddler would change my life completely.
The Žička Carthusian Church is a wonderful venue for concerts and performances. It has a really strong and actually very beautiful energy, even when you visit as a tourist, and it is not crowded. But when there are concerts in this venue, people connect with each other in a way, and the bad mood just evaporates. At least that's how I experienced my first concert there. But how did I get there in the first place? There is a very beautiful story behind it.
I saw on social media that there was a raffle giving away tickets to a Vlad Kreslin concert. Naturally, I was happy to take part, albeit without any expectations. And indeed... The raffle was closed and I did not get two tickets. No big deal, at least I tried, someone else will enjoy the concert, I thought, and quickly forgot about it. But then I was greeted by an incredible message.
"I saw that you entered the raffle for tickets to the Vlad Kreslin concert at the Žička Carthusian Church. I was lucky enough to get tickets, but unfortunately I can't go to the concert, and I wish they were not going to waste. Would you go?"
Although I was happy and surprised, I was of course also suspicious. I did not know this person, I had never seen her before. We were not even friends on social networks. And how did she find me out of the mass of comments?! I kept asking if she wanted any payment, if she really wanted to give the tickets to me and how I could get them. She did not want payment. She really wanted to give the tickets to me and, knowing that it would be difficult to find somewhere, she suggested that I should say her name at the box office and pick them up. She said that she would let them know that I was coming instead of her.
So, I asked my best friend, with whom I often go to concerts, if he would go to the Kreslin concert with me that night. He was immediately in favour and full of anticipation, but also doubts, we drove to the Žička Carthusian, parked and walked up to the ticket office. The tickets were really waiting for me!
The concert was unique and even though it started to rain while the legendary Vlado Kreslin was singing, none of us who were there together pulsate to the music, he did not bother. We accepted the summer shower stoically and simply enjoyed the music and the experience.
Why the lady or the gentleman chose me, I still don't know. But I do know that she had a really good heart and was extremely caring, because she could have easily let the tickets go to waste and she would not have had any complications. Instead, she decided to make me, a complete stranger, whom she knew nothing about, happy, and for that I am still really grateful to her.
