Judging by his cheerful disposition, you'd never think he'd been through any hardship in life. He accepts everything that comes his way. Jani is always smiling. Wherever he appears, good spirits and a pleasant atmosphere are guaranteed. Far from the truth, however, is what I mentioned earlier, that his life has been paved only with comfort and roses.
As the second and final child in the Novak family, he lived in the house with his parents. Despite having regular employment, he was always a great help and support to them. The respect he had for his parents and his sense of belonging to this family unit were exceptional. Jani showed his parents particular strength and love years ago when their health began to decline quite rapidly due to illness and old age. His mother became bedridden and required a lot of extra help and care, while his father did his utmost to stay on his feet each day.
Despite things becoming considerably more demanding at home, Jani did not give up. Every morning, before he went to work, he looked after his mother, who often needed him at night too. His father was a great help throughout the day when he was away on business, as he looked after his mother, and some good neighbours also visited them in between. When Jani returned from work in the afternoon, he rolled up his sleeves, took hold of the cooking spoon and cooked lunch for the family. In addition to other obligations, he took care of all the household chores, the tidiness of the house, and also tended to the garden.
And so, Jani's life unfolded like that for several years, and then his parents peacefully left our planet within a few months of each other. Jani says he is grateful to them for everything they gave him as parents, as he always valued them greatly and felt a strong sense of belonging to the family. When they needed his help and support during life's most vulnerable moments, Jani lovingly and caringly provided it.
This requires a strong will and an open heart. We often give with the expectation of receiving something in return, but the most noble act is one that comes spontaneously, from the heart and with joy., Jani has most certainly given it to his parents.
