The reason I capitalise the word "Man" is quite simple: a person with a capital "M" is someone who, without expectation, selflessly helps others. We all know that when mothers give birth to their child, they have this sense of knowing exactly what their child needs. But we all have that feeling inside us, we just have to allow ourselves to express it.
The day after Christmas, Grandma Franck was seized by a fever and a deep cough. Her well-being deteriorated. Her blood pressure and heart rate were very low. Her eldest grandson, who lives with her, took her to the emergency room. There, Franck was detained and operated on. A pacemaker was inserted. After the operation, she was prescribed a lot of pills and rest for her right arm. This meant she could not do household chores.
My two daughters live an hour from Ljubljana, and my grandchildren are all working, except for my granddaughter Klara, who has just finished her Master's degree. Klara decided to move in with her grandmother Francka. She took care of the household chores, drove her to her regular check-ups and took care of other obligations. The care lasted for more than two months as the healing process was slow.
One Sunday morning was very eventful, as Frančka started vomiting blood. Klara immediately called 112. They came to pick her up and took her to the emergency room, where she was given a new pill therapy. Because of the uneven blood density, Francka's grandmother made several visits to the emergency room. Among other things, she was weakened by a minor stroke, which kept her in intensive care for several days. A true miracle happened and today Francka is living normally and has no consequences from the stroke.
Klara had the opportunity to take up employment during this time, but decided not to take up a regular job until her grandmother had recovered enough to be independent. The employer understood her situation and Klara was taken on later.
During her recovery, Grandma Francka and granddaughter Klara became very close. Although Francka was very stubborn at times, Klara learned to persevere. Despite Franka's rebelliousness, her granddaughter knew what was good for her.
No matter how many hours were spent in the ER, every minute can be quality time spent with someone who means a lot to you. This was a great opportunity for Klara, as she has developed a good sense of humanity. It is nice for a Human being to have the opportunity to get to know a Human being better.
Francka is independent again. She occasionally goes for medical check-ups. Klara went abroad after working in Slovenia. They are in contact via Whatsapp. Klara is aware that this was the first and last opportunity in her and her grandmother's life to connect in this way. They made good use of it.
What is lacking in this world is love, compassion and acceptance of Man. Every Human being loves to be touched, to be paid attention to and to be heard. There are so many opportunities in the world for selfless help that fill a Person with love and joy. That is why we are here. To think about what we can give to the community alongside our own lives.
Every Human Being needs a Human Being who is there for them, on whom they can rely and with whom they can share special moments. It is in such life events that a person comes to know and shape himself.
