The pupils of the 4.b class of Škofljica Primary School dedicated themselves in their creative project to a thorough exploration of Slovenia's five fundamental values, placing at the forefront Mutual help.
Help with tidying the house and an injury to the neighbour
The Kovač family had a very messy house. In this family, there were mother Katja, father Mark, twins Kaja and Mia, son Luka, and twins Lara and Kaj. Because there were so many of them, their house was messy. One day, Luka's friend Maj came to visit. He saw how messy their house was, so he helped tidy up. Then Ema, Sofija, and Lucija arrived. They helped too. Twin Kaj, however, was bored because he didn't have any friends nearby. Mother Katja called the parents of Kaj's friends. They all replied that they couldn't or that the children had no transport. Kaj was still sad. Then mother called Mark, a friend of father's, and said that Marko could come over. Kaj, Marko, Katja, Mark, Kaja, Mia, Luka, Lara, Maj, Ema, Sofija, and Lucija tidied the whole house in an hour and a half. Mother Katja and father Mark rested, and the children went to play in the yard. While playing at the neighbours», they noticed their neighbour Alja, who had a very naughty younger brother, Gašper. He bit her on the arm. Because he wanted attention, he also kicked her and pushed her onto the grass, but because she was near the fence, she hit her shoulder on the concrete part of the fence. Mia, Lara, and Ema immediately ran to their mother and father to get first aid. Father said, «Why?" They explained that Gašper had pushed Alja and that she had hit her shoulder on the concrete part of the fence. Mother and father immediately understood. Father found the first aid kit, and mother called Alja's and Gašper's mother. Mother Liza and father Peter ran into the yard to look at her, and the two of them also helped. They called an ambulance. They were lucky that the hospital was nearby and the ambulance arrived quickly. Alja ended up wearing a cast for a year. Brother Gašper was forbidden from doing things. From then on, Alja was happy, and Gašper never hit her again because he didn't want to be forbidden. The Kovač family lived happily ever after.

Neighbourly help
One day I helped our neighbour, who lives on our street. She is an elderly lady and lives with her dog, Rex. Last month, she broke her leg while out for a walk. The neighbour needed help. My parents and I agreed to help her. I took the dog, Rex, for walks. My mum and I bought her what she needed from the shop. My dad took her to the doctor for a check-up. Our neighbour was very grateful to us for helping her. The dog, Rex, was also very happy. Our neighbour has now recovered and no longer needs our help. I personally believe that if you help others, you gain many friends. I am happy when I can help someone.
