Her regular client is an employee of the Vipava Centre for Education, Rehabilitation and Training. Nika expressed her wish to visit the centre once. Of course, she was immediately in favour and they have already arranged a date for the visit.
When she arrived at the centre, the children welcomed her warmly and were delighted to see her. "They were so excited that their daddies were beaming. They even served me coffee and biscuits. They are such good souls," she said.
She arranged and painted the nails of all the girls who wanted it.
"The girls lined up and waited patiently. I painted each girl's nails in the colour of her choice and painted on a design. They were very impressed with the result. They even drew me a picture," added Nika.
How come you decided to visit children with special needs, I asked her.
"They are part of us too; normal people with normal needs who deserve the same treatment as everyone else. They deserve to be well groomed and to feel good. It was with the greatest pleasure that I went to see them. It was so nice to chat with each one of them. If it brightened their day, all the better. It was a very interesting experience. Only then did I think, how we are so burdened by unnecessary things that we sometimes fail to enjoy life and cherish the simple moments," she replied.
Nika does her work with heart and soul and really enjoys it. She loves to chat with her clients and is always ready to help anyone who needs her help. She will always be the first in line.
She says she will definitely return to the centre when time allows, as she has many commitments as a mother.
"I can't even describe how it feels when someone is genuinely happy for you and would give you everything, even if they had less," Nika concluded.
