Laura Pletikos grew up in Slovenske Konjice and knew from a young age that her life would be connected to the hospitality industry.

With every visit to the café and every story told by the guests, her passion for this kind of world grew. When she was younger, she dreamed of one day opening her own place where people could enjoy good food, drinks and a welcoming atmosphere.

After years of hard work and learning what it means to have your own place, she has made her dream come true. She opened her own bar in the heart of Slovenske Konjice. She lived for every smile of a visitor, for every compliment on the excellent coffee and for the pleasant atmosphere. She was proud of what she had created and every morning she would enthusiastically step behind Shankready to embrace a new day with love for her guests, who were almost like family to her.

One morning, when she opened the door of her café, she saw a man standing in front of it. He was tired, dressed in old and dirty clothes, and his face was wrought with pain.

He used to be a respectable man, but life has brought him down. He didn't even have money for the basics, let alone a cup of coffee.

She watched him for a few moments, then decided. With a warm smile, she walked up to him and said, "Today you get a free coffee."

The man looked surprised at first, but then his eyes lit up with gratitude. "Thank you, but I don't know how to tell you..." he said quietly.

Laura just waved her hand and smiled, "I know how you feel. Sometimes life takes surprising turns, but it's always good to remember that each of us deserves a little warmth and kindness."

From then on, the man came to her place every day and Laura always offered him a free coffee. She never once hesitated. Coffee became more than just a drink - it became a symbol of compassion and harmony and a small act of kindness that changed someone's day for a moment.

Although it was not known what was the reason for his downfall, Laura knew that acts of kindness are the ones that transcend everything else. Once a man said, "I will never forget what you gave me. I didn't just get coffee. You gave me hope."

His life didn't change overnight, but those small acts of kindness left something inside him that helped him build a better future.

In the end, Laura realised that it doesn't always matter what you give or how much you give.

With every act of kindness, no matter how big, the world is slowly changing for the better.
