This time I want to tell my story, which proved to me that honest people still exist in this world.

Last October, I went for a long walk with my dog in a nearby park, just like every day after work. We walked along our usual route and I stopped for a moment to take a treat for the dog out of my rucksack.

To my surprise, at that moment I realised that my rucksack was open. It is a very small rucksack, in which I only put a small bottle of water, some treats and sometimes my wallet if I want to go to the shop after my walk.

I realised that my wallet was not in my backpack. At that moment, a bad feeling came over me, and I couldn't remember whether I might have left my wallet at home this time. It was getting dark outside, the dog was tired, I somehow convinced myself that the wallet was definitely at home and continued on my way home.

When I got home, I found, much to my dismay, that my wallet was missing. So it must have fallen out of my rucksack at some point during the walk. It was already night outside and a light rain was falling. I decided to call my friend and together we walked back along the path we had been walking on with our torches. At every step I hoped to see my wallet. We combed the whole path and all the nearby meadows, but my wallet was nowhere to be found. The fact that the wallet was black and therefore less visible did not help.

Heavy rain was forecast for the next few days, so I had little hope of getting my wallet back.

It didn't have much money, but it had all the bank cards, documents and, what really hurt me the most, the pictures of my daughter, which had a great meaning and a beautiful memory for me. Since I have always believed in the rule of life that good returns good, I decided to wait a few days before cancelling all the cards. Days passed, more than a week passed and the hope of getting my wallet back was less and less.

Just before I decide to go to the bank and the administration office, I receive a new friend request and a message on social media.

The lady who found my wallet looked for it and informed me that I could come and look for it at the reception of a nearby swimming pool.

My luck was not over, my wallet was absolutely empty and the rain hadn't even got it wet, as someone had apparently brought it to the pool area earlier that day and the lady had only noticed it when cleaning up that day.

I am happy that someone has made my life so much better and easier. I am committed to helping others whenever I can, because it only makes our chain of good people longer.
