Traditional costumes, folk dances - we also learn about belonging from the elderly.

Pupils from Brezovica pri Ljubljani Primary School and the Notranje Gorice Branch Primary School explore, develop, and reinforce Slovenia's 5 fundamental values (trust and respect, honesty, mutual help, belonging, and moderation) through a variety of activities. In doing so, they realise that these values are already part of their everyday lives, but the activities further raise their awareness and strengthen them.

Significant emphasis is placed on cooperation with the elderly and volunteering. Pupils become volunteers and correspond with older people, thereby developing empathy, communication skills, and a sense of responsibility. In addition, they foster feelings of connection with the elderly, which helps them feel less lonely. During intergenerational meetings and performances by the pupils, bonds between different generations and respect for the elderly are further strengthened. They also place special emphasis on preserving cultural heritage. Through dancing and learning about Slovene folk dances, pupils develop a sense of belonging, cooperation, and respect for tradition. In this way, through connection, cooperation, and active community involvement, they learn to put values into practice.
