»You have a lot of goodness in you,« I said to Tania when she started telling me about her heartfelt actions.

As we talked, I felt more and more that her actions were really part of her, something that, as I can say, guides her in life.

Writing stories is my favourite pastime. When I was thinking about who I would ask to share a story about their good deeds, Tanja immediately popped into my mind.

I met Tanja while hiking. Even then I felt her warmth and sincere kindness. I knew I had to invite her, because she is one of those people you think of when you think of warm-heartedness.

When she started to tell me about her good deeds, I quickly realised that I would not be describing just one of them. Instead, there will be a whole chain of her deeds, linked into a story. And so it will be shown how the goodness of one heart can touch many others.

A few years ago, Tanja gave a single mum with two children an almost-new coffee table and two highchairs. On another occasion, she prepared a large box of food for another mum, full of tins, dried food, milk and other useful things. She always thinks practically, so you really get what you need from her.

Croatia did not hesitate when the earthquake hit. She packed a large package of personal hygiene products, knowing that such things are the most useful in such moments. She wanted to help and, by doing so, to alleviate a little of the hardship of the people there.

A woman lives alone in a block of flats and has been on sick leave for a long time. She is barely getting by month to month and struggling to pay the rent. She has no company and is depressed. Tanja offered her a weekend break at her weekend house. She arranged food, transport and an environment where she could breathe again, at least for a few days. She included some money with the invitation, because she knew she would need it. She did not think about how much she had given. She was only thinking about how much she could make this woman happy and give her the feeling that she was not alone.

In Vrhnika, they often help by to the King of the Street donate some money. To some, it may seem like a small gesture, but to this person it could mean a hot meal or a night spent under a roof.

Tanja has done a lot of good work. I am sure that she will continue to help others with her heart as long as she can. She carries a lot of good within her and she sincerely wants to spread it. May her story touch all hearts - as much as it touched mine.
