Slovenia is known as a small paradise on earth, offering, among other things, many tourist gems and opportunities for a wide range of activities.

Hiking and skiing, for example, are two such activities that many Slovenians absolutely love.

Blaž Novak also has a special passion for skiing. He is not just an amateur skier, however, as he has also completed a course to become a ski instructor. He is happy to pass on his knowledge to all those who want to master this sport. He especially enjoys teaching children who are full of energy and enthusiasm for the joys of the snow.

As Blaž often spends the winter months at different ski resorts, making the most of the season, he often meets people he knows or makes new acquaintances. The latter happened on a sunny day when he was driving to the popular ski resort of Krvavec.

About two kilometres before the finish, he saw a woman walking and carrying skis on the side of the road. He stopped the car and asked her where she was going. She replied in English that she was on her way to Krvavec, but the bus driver dropped her off at the last stop, so she walked to the ski lift. As Blaž was also heading in the same direction, he offered the lady a lift, which she gladly accepted.

It turns out that they have quite a few things in common. They exchanged some interesting stories on the way and later on the skiing. The lady said that she was from Siberia and that she was a mountaineer. She likes Slovenia very much, so she has settled down here.

Blaž listened to her story with curiosity. Among other things, she told him that she had taken the mountain guide exam, but had failed this time because of her failed ski touring venture. Since Blaž is a skilled cross-country skier, he offered to help her become better at the sport if she wanted to do so.

During their conversation, the topic of our beautiful Slovenia, which offers unique opportunities for various outdoor sports activities at any time of the year, came up several times. Blaž knows well the hidden and less hidden destinations in Slovenia that are worth visiting, so he suggested many more to the lady, besides Kranjska Gora, Lake Bohinj and Bovec.

He also remarked that Slovenia, despite being a small country, has the advantage of being able to visit the mountains and drink coffee on the coast in just one day. In addition to the transport, the lady was also given a comprehensive list of places to explore in Slovenia, as she intends to stay here for some time to come.
