The story I am sharing this time is about respecting people regardless of their status.

It is about helping people and communities, and about standing side by side through thick and thin. I believe that we are strongest as a society when we are able to see and respond to the distress of others with warmth and an open heart.

I invited Darja to join me and she told me about some of her noble deeds. She is also often involved in acts that leave imprints in hearts and sew up the wounded heart and soul of many.

For several years, she worked as a volunteer for the Humanitarian Association Hrana za život (Food for Life), where food parcels were prepared and organised, and then delivered to families in need. This period gave her much more than just experience. It taught her how to listen, how to see the need (even the hidden ones) and how to help without expectations. She also learned that sometimes a little attention can make a big difference in someone else's life. Each encounter with the families opened her eyes and reminded her of the value of human closeness and compassion.

The story of a boy and his mother, who did not have enough money for even the basic necessities of life, touched her particularly deeply. She decided to help them. With the support of friends and people on social media, she collected a large amount of food and delivered it to them personally. She will never forget the call from her mum, full of tears of gratitude. Darja says that it was a moment that will remain in her heart forever. It was then that she understood even more deeply that just one sincere act can mean so much to someone. This experience reinforced her conviction of how vital it is for people to come together when needed.

She also likes to help people as part of her work. She is a cosmetics and make-up artist. She has often offered free make-up or services at a nominal price to girls who cannot afford it. She believes that each one of us deserves to feel beautiful, dignified and warm. Sometimes a small gesture is enough to restore a person's faith in themselves and brighten their day.

All these experiences have taught her to Help is not just an act, it's an attitude. It is about respect, understanding and a willingness to stand by each other - as people and as a community.
